PISM (and other source codes) go into cold storage

In February they are going to put PISM in the bottom of an old coal mine in Svalbard:

PhD Studentship: Palaeoglaciology of Eurasian Ice Sheets

Dr. Ely’s group at the University of Sheffield is advertising for a PhD student in paleo-ice sheet modeling, possibly including PISM:

Two ice sheet modeling postdocs at University of Alaska Fairbanks

The University of Alaska Fairbanks invites applications for two postdoctoral scholars in ice sheet modeling. The positions are based at the Geophysical Institute, a world-renowned institute for Arctic research. Our team in the glaciology group is a dynamic, international, and interdisciplinary team, and welcomes all kinds of people who share our values of curiosity, creativity, and initiative.

Postdoctoral Scientist: ice-sheet/climate modeller at MPI-M (Hamburg)

The MPI-Earth group at MPI-M (Hamburg) is looking for a postdoc. PISM experience “would be of advantage”. For more information see the CRYOLIST post.

The UAF PISM developers are currently busy getting PISM ready for ISMIP6. We are implementing all the required parameterizations for Greenland and we are making it easy to output fields in the requested MKS system, use the ISMIP6 variable names and output the requested fields with a shorthand.
